RESEARCH DRIVEN

Women’s health has been neglected for too long – time for a change

Dr. Ofra Castro Wersäll has spent twenty years working with women's health – first at Karolinska University Hospital, then in outpatient care where she founded EndoGyn, a gynecology clinic built on the conviction that women deserved better.

Over those two decades, a pattern became clear: Women were coming in with overlapping problems - fatigue, joint pain, depression, cognitive changes, cardiovascular issues - that couldn't be traced back to a single diagnosis. They weren't simply ill. They were ageing in a system that had never been designed to understand how women age.

The data backs this up. Women spend 25 percent more of their lives in poor health than men. In Sweden, women are 83 percent more likely to be on sick leave. And yet, barely any healthcare resources go towards preventing female diseases.

Longevity has emerged as one of the fastest growing fields in medicine. But its development has largely been shaped by male bodies, male biomarkers and male norms. The field has consistently left out the hormonal complexity that defines women's health across a lifetime. As oestrogen and progesterone levels decline, already from a woman's forties, the effects reach the heart, brain, bones and metabolism. The links to cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes and cognitive decline are well established. What's missing is the medical infrastructure to act on them early.

EndoHealth was founded to close that gap. Through clinical care and research, the ambition goes beyond treating individual patients. The goal is to change how women's health and preventive care are understood and prioritised - across the healthcare system.

VISION

A world where women don't just live longer – but live better

EndoHealth exists to build the medical foundation for women's longevity – grounded in research, driven by clinical expertise and focused on the factors that actually determine how women age. Not as a wellness trend. As medicine.

Our vision is a future where preventive women's health is not an afterthought in the healthcare system but a priority. Where the hormonal and physical changes through a woman's life are met with knowledge and intervention rather than normalised.

We are starting in Stockholm. But the science, and the need, extends far beyond it.

WHY ENDOHEALTH

"The links between hormonal change and cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes and cognitive decline are well established. What's missing is the medical infrastructure to act on them early"

FAQ

About us

Most longevity clinics are built around a general model – optimising health for everyone. EndoHealth was built specifically around women, and that distinction shapes everything we do.

Women's biology is fundamentally different from men's. The hormonal changes that come with age affect nearly every organ system in the body – and those changes are largely absent from mainstream longevity medicine. At EndoHealth, hormones are not a footnote.

They are central to how we assess, treat and follow up every patient.

Everything we do is doctor-led. Our founder, dr. Ofra Castro Wersäll, has twenty years of clinical experience in women's health. This is not a wellness concept – it is a medical practice grounded in clinical expertise.

EndoHealth is located in central Stockholm at Linnégatan 64 - a beautiful 18th century building, originally built as an officer's stable.

If you are unable to visit us in person, we can combine consultations with your doctor, results review and protocol digitally, with testing arranged through local partners near you. Get in touch and we will help you find the best solution.

That is our ambition. We currently offer private care - but the goal has always been bigger than that.
Through our research we are working to build the evidence base that shows what preventive women's health actually delivers – both for individual patients and for the healthcare system as a whole. We believe that data is what drives systemic change.

Today, only 0.75 percent of healthcare resources in Sweden go towards preventive women's health. We want to change that number. And we believe the way to do it is to show, not just argue, that early intervention works.
