About MRI
A full body MRI is a non-invasive, radiation-free imaging scan that uses magnetic resonance to produce detailed images of your internal organs, soft tissues, and vascular structures.
Through EndoHealth's network of partner clinics across Sweden, you will be referred to an accredited imaging centre where your scan will be conducted by specialist radiologists. Your results are subsequently reviewed by your EndoHealth doctor.
This is not a diagnostic test for a specific condition, it is a preventive screening tool designed to detect early changes before symptoms develop.
To ensure the most accurate and comfortable experience, please follow these guidelines before your scan.
Before your scan
- Inform your EndoHealth doctor of any metal implants, pacemakers or surgical devices, as these may affect your suitability for MRI
- Avoid wearing jewellery or metal accessories on the day of your scan
- You may be asked to fast for a few hours beforehand, your referral letter will confirm this
On the day
- Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing without metal fastenings
- The scan itself is painless and typically takes between 60 and 90 minutes
If you are pregnant or may be pregnant
Please inform your EndoHealth doctor before your referral is made, as MRI is generally avoided during the first trimester.
Your MRI report will be prepared by the specialist radiologist at your imaging centre and typically returned within one to two weeks of your scan.
Your EndoHealth doctor will review the findings and contextualising your results within your broader health profile.
Where findings require further investigation or specialist referral, your EndoHealth doctor will guide and coordinate your next steps, ensuring continuity of care throughout.
